Description: Dental assistants help dentists during patient exams and treatments. They schedule appointments, keep patient records, handle billing, and order supplies. Those with lab duties clean removable dentures and make temporary crowns for teeth. They wear gloves and masks to protect themselves from diseases and germs. Many work evenings and Saturdays, and they spend a good part of their time on their feet.
