Private detectives and investigators
Description: Private detectives and investigators work for lawyers, insurance companies, and other kinds of businesses. They gather information for trials, track down people who owe companies money, and conduct background checks. Some are selfemployed and specialize in searching for missing persons or finding information for divorce cases. They may spend long hours watching a person or place, hunting for clues, and interviewing people. They often work irregular hours and travel, and the work may be dangerous.
