Chefs, cooks, and food preparation workers

: Chefs and cooks plan and make meals in restaurants, schools, cafeterias, and hospitals. They supervise other workers, order supplies, and plan menus. Kitchen workers help chefs and cooks by chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and stirring soups and sauces. They also keep the kitchen clean and wash dishes. These workers are on their feet all day in crowded, hot kitchens. Most work evenings and weekends, and many work part-time.
