^- $\frac{1}{2}$ + x + $\frac{2}{3}$ = ^- $\frac{5}{6}$

First combine the 2 fractions on the left-hand side.

x + $\frac{1}{6}$ = ^- $\frac{5}{6}$

Then subtract $\frac{1}{6}$ from both sides of the equation.

x = -1
