grad (phi) = (2(y^3)(z^4)(x) - 3(y^2), 3(x^2)(z^4)(y^2) - 6xy, 4(x^2)(y^3)(z^3)) Take the partial derivatives of each term with respect to x, y, and z) That's all I can remember right now. |

![]() 1. a. phi(x,y,z) = (x^2)(y^3)(z^4) - 3(x)(y^2)
grad (phi) = (2(y^3)(z^4)(x) - 3(y^2), 3(x^2)(z^4)(y^2) - 6xy, 4(x^2)(y^3)(z^3)) ![]() |
