a manufacturer of electric light globes finds that in the long run 2% of his globes are defective. What is the probability that out of a batch of 80 globes, there will be more than two defects

That question's unanswerable without knowing the standard deviation.

Asked my hubby who is a University Stats Professor he said the math Criteria would be to multiply point .02 times 80....... This will give you the number of globe failures but not the probabilities..Hope this answers your question....
