In a geometry class?

In a geometry class, Jeff scored a 6 on a quiz for which the class mean and standard deviation were 4.2 and 3.1, respectively. Patty scored a 7 on another quiz for which the class mean and standard deviation were 6.3 and 1.2, respectively. Relatively speaking, which student did better?

(6 - 4.2)/3.1 = 0.5806452(7 - 6.3)/1.2 = 0.5833333Relative to the respective means & s.d.'s Patty did better.

Jeffdid I think... I can't explain the reasoning, maybe I'm right =)
