What does "x" equal to?

2) -5+7=-2x+43

3) 4+6x=-6x-140

no, im sorry but only number 2 is wrong and problaly jonathan didnt look to the "-" in -2x because the answer is not -41/2 but 41/2.

I think number 2 should be x=20.5 too. Look at-5+7=-2x+43. Next, you do 2=-2x+43. Then you do -41=-2x. TO cancel 2x divide by 2x on both sides. So, x=20.5 or 41\2.
