![]() There is a man who lives on the top floor of an apartment building. On sunny days he rides half way in the elevator and walks the rest of the way. On rainy days he rides the elevator all the way up. Why does he do that?

![]() I know this is not the official answer but:
The elevator runs on hydroelectric power and on sunny days there is not enough rain to power the elevator all the way up.

The man was too short to reach the button for the top floor, but on rainy days he used his umbrella to reach it. ![]() |

![]() That's only one possible answer. My answer is also plausible.
If this happened in real life, the man can sue the apartment management. In the United States, the 1988 Amendments to the Fair Housing Act guarantees that "Light switches, electrical outlets, thermostats and other environmental controls [be placed] in accessible locations". Actually, my hydroelectric powered elevator makes more sense.
