Default Algebra Help Please!?

X=4(4+x)-------------- 8What does X= and how did you get it? Simple steps please! No, Im not *****ing on homework! Im trying to learn more algebra after being out of school 20yrs. Thank you in advance!So far I've received 4 different answers. Help... Please add why you do what you do to get the answer. Like Im a 3 yr old please!they have it over 8, I guess it is divided by?

x = 16 + 4x3x = -16x = -16/3What does the underline 8 means?

I'm not sure about the way you wrote it but I'll do it without the 8 underneith:if x = 4(4+x) 1) Distribute the 4 to get rid of parentheses x = 16+4x2) We want to get x on one side of the equal side by itself so I will subtract 4x from both sides (remember whatever you do to one side of the equal sign, you have to do to the other too) -3x = 163) Divide both sides by -3 to get x by itself x = -16/3

x = 4(4+x)/88x = 4(4+x)8x = 16 + 4 x4x = 16x = 4
