Default Trigonometry Question?

Given that sinx= (- sqrt2/2) and that cos x is negative,find the other functions of x and the value of x.

cos x = -sqrt2/2tan x = 1x = 225 degrees

sin(x) = -sqrt(2)/2 can yield x = -pi/4 or x = -3pi/4 (in the range (-pi, pi)). However, there is only one quadrant where both sin and cos are negative (-pi/2, -pi), so the only valid value of x is -3pi/4. For this value, you can then compute cos(x) = -sqrt(2)/2 and tan(x) = 1.
