${x^2}-3x-10={x^2}-4x+3$
$x=13$

2) $(x-3)(x+7) - (x+1)(x+5)=0$

$\Rightarrow x^2+4x-21 - x^2-6x-5=0$

$\Rightarrow 4x-21-6x-5=0$

$\Rightarrow -2x-26=0$

$\Rightarrow -2x=26$

$\Rightarrow x=-13$
