If the area of each hexagonal base is about 166 sq cm then the area for the bases is about 2 x 166 = 332 sq cm.
Each lateral face of the prism is a rectangle with dimensions of 8 x 30 = 240 sq cm. Since there are 6 lateral faces their area is 6 x 240 = 1440 sq cm.
The total surface area is about 332 + 1440 = 1772 sq cm.
