07-29-2007 #4 got_tacos Guest   Posts: n/a well first of all you should be doing your own homework hahaha. that said ill help you with the first one. you need to ge the volumes of each bed. the first bed the volume is height x width x depth, and you want to keep your units in feet. so the first bed is 0.5 x 2 x 25 = 25sqft, bed two is the same and bed 3 is 0.5 x 4 x 25 = 50. the last one is the tricky one but the formula for the colume of a circle is pi x radius^2 x height so pi x 7.5^2 x 0.5 = 88.3573. so add all those up and thats the volume in cubic feet. you need cubic yards so you divide by 27. there are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard. so you get a final answer of 6.97 which rounded up is 7 which is one of your choices. now im not doing the rest of your homework but if you need formulas check online also if you need conversions the internet is a useful tool there as well. hope this helps you out some.
