Help with "missing numbers" pattern

Find the missing numbers and explain the pattern:

1. 1,3,__, 15, 25, 75

2. 1,2,7, __, 49, 98

3. 1,2,4,5,10,20,25,__,100

4. 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,__,24,48

These are not really patterns as we normally think about them since with patterns we can keep going as long as we keep using the same rule.

These are lists of factors.

1. Factors of 75: 1, 3, 5, 15, 25, 75
2. Factors of 98: 1, 2, 7, 14, 49, 98
3. Factors of 100: 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50 , 100
4. Factors of 48: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 48

I must confess, I struggled with this one. I've always found series tricky. I had to get the spreadsheet out and check what was going on. I set it out carefully so that I could see the pattern. But without the solution from Mas1 I don't think I would have thought of factors. Well done you Mas1!!!!!

Bye the way does Mas1 or anyone else have a good way to approach series in general? Ie a systematic approach for people like me who tend to get stuck / frustrated with series.
