Find what x equals.
Please show your work!

We learned it yesterday but I was in Florida so I wasn't at school.

I think the answer is: x = 1. Mr. Hui is this answer right?

thats a really hard problem jon are u in honors class??

I am pretty sure that x=2 or -2

try putting 2 instead of the variable which is 2 over 1 and it works

- + x + = -

First combine the 2 fractions on the left-hand side.

x + = -

Then subtract from both sides of the equation.

x = -1

Or try to solve this!

+ = -
(1/6) + (1/x) = -5/6

First get common denominators for the left hand side.

x/(6x) + 6/(6x) = -5/6

(x + 6)/(6x) = -5/6

Then cross multiply.

-30x = 6x + 36
-36 = 36x
-1 = x
