Default [Math] Integer word problem?

I'm currently stuck on a set of problems that the book doesn't have examples for, e.g:"Nine times the first of two consecutive odd integers equals seven times the second. Find the integers."

Default here's how

"Nine times the first of two consecutive odd integers equals seven times the second. Find the integers."

Express two consecutive odd integers as x and x+2
then the problem states...
9(x) = 7(x+2)
9x = 7x + 14
subtract 7x from both sides
9x - 7x = 7x + 14 - 7x
2x = 14
x = 7
so, the answers are 7 and 9

CHECK by substituting your answer back into the original equation

9(7) = 7(9)
63 = 63 check!
