I perfer large dogs. I have two large & a rescued mutt that is medium. The only reason I have the mutt is because I felt sorry for the life she had before I got her!!!

http://www.akc.org/reg/litter_stats.cfmThis gives you the total LITTERS registered with the AKC for 2006. I doesn't give you the total number of dogs. On a gross level. It should give you what you want.You'll have to go through all 155 breeds to get your number.

I own 2 large rottweilers and a little Chow-husky mix- The chowsky rules the roost and theres nothing funnier than seeing 2 big ol' rotts running for cover from a little fluff ball that is less than half their size.

I don't have statistics on any breed, even my dog's breeds...My dogs are large breed (2 of 3)Try the links below that I found.I hope they help you.
