Oh, I love those sequences which are usually in every IQ-Test.

This is the Fibonacci-Sequence which always adds the last 2 numbers in every step.

1,4,9,16,25,36,49,64,81

These are the natural numbers, but squared.


So here I bring 2 new ones, which are the next 2 numbers?

5, 6, 12, 9, 10, 20, 17, 18, 36, 33, ... The pattern for this sequence is add 1, multiply by 2, and subtract 3.

Yes, you are totally right. In the first sequence you could have also choose a few other options like:

65536,256,1,1/256 or
65536,256,-65024,-130304 or
2^16,2^8,2^4,2^2 or
2^16,2^8,2^0,2^-8

due to the fact that I showed only the first 2 numbers.

Since this thread is about sequences, I guess i will create more. Find the next 2 numbers for this one: 1,2,3,9,10,11,12,18. For this one find the 99th term in the sequence. 1,5,25,20,100,500,495

Second Sequence: 64 and 81
