 04-27-2010 #2 shadow123blast     Join Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 117 Countdown round Countdown to victory the countdown is a quick rapid fire contest where contestants press buttons and who ever is first the the correct answer gets the point in 5 questions if a person gets 2 point first get the victory if none then oh well all participants lose. This is the interesting part of MathCounts From now on i am going to give 3 points to the 1st person that answers the questions 1 questions each day on my blog from sate sprints then i will move to target team then countdown Sprint is 3 points for the 1st person 2 points for targets 5 points for team questions 2 for countdown problems For todays question actually 2 points for the first 5 people
 04-27-2010 #3 orac343     Join Date: Mar 2010 Posts: 11 oO believe me i really want to be good at Mathcounts i was really close to winning i need some practice i think your question was from the sprint of this year and the answer is 4.5 since 2+3+1 (this is the ratio)=6 you have 9pounds over 6 parts each part is 9/6 or 3/2 so 3/2 multiplied by 3 since respectively it is the 3 so you have 4.5 pounds

Countdown

i will have a competition the 2 people have to be on at the same time
i will post problems (5 at a time) then the 1st to answer all correctly will win but remember you must schedule your time with another player or you won't get the prize
The prize is 50 points
This is VIP only(not to be discriminatory) but VIPs post instantly so i can see their answers

to give you all a warm up and bonus 10 points for answering all 5 correctly
